Marine Graduation / California Quickie Vacation

Sooooo....Atti and I went with my family to A.J.'s (my baby brother) Marine Corps. boot camp graduation the first week in July. It was entertaining to take Atti on an airplane again; he is just so busy now it is hard to keep him sitting in one seat for a two hour flight. Not to mention that he throws tantrums that can rip your eardurms if he is not getting his way!

Anywho, we went midweek and had a nice time. It was very impressive to see the changes that my brother had undergone and how grown up he now was. It was nice to spend a bit of time with him too, as he is already gone back for more training.

Here are some photos and descriptions of what was going on during our trip:

A.J. and Kat on the ride to the hotel after A.J. had been released from his 13 week imprisonment! He was excited to eat a candy bar and sleep in a bed!

I think this is A.J.'s platoon (I couldn't see too far to read the red flag) lined up on the parade deck during the graduation. I loved it when they all yelled together - very powerful.

A blurry picture of a happy A.J. as he picked up some civilian clothing from our room so he could change into something not made of wool and a bit cooler than he was used too.

Atticus riding illegally on Nana's lap in the shuttle from the base to the hotel. They were making farm animal sounds; Atti knows that sheep say "baaaa" and horses go "pwwwww!"

This is the toddler king eating frootloops in MY bed! He climbed on up with his snack and made himself comfortable.

A.J. taking my mom's arm like a gentleman! WOW!! From boy to man in 13 weeks!

Once again, I think this is A.J.'s platoon. He should be in the second row, third back....

Grandma Sugar and Atti look at boats in the harbor on the back side of our hotel. Atticus wants to jump in the water and take a swim!

Me and Atti at the pool for A.J.'s after party. We swam later and the water wasn't too bad. I have given birth to a baby fish!

Last memories as we left the base. A.J. has never been more relieved in his life!
